This small piece uses a new glaze combination that, while in the brown ranges, has lots of interesting mossy green and turquoise variations. During the glazing process, I masked the carved parts that point to the left, so that they’re a slightly different color than the underlying pieces of the relief that point to the right. That helps to emphasize that the movement goes in both directions. This piece evokes natural forms without replicating anything specific.
