Another one of the “metaphysical” pieces, this envisions both the flow toward the ocean as well as the tidewater flowing up the stream. Metaphorically it is the inevitable path of the soul flowing toward union with the infinite, interacting with divine grace, the “rising tide that refreshes all streams”.
