This, like “Autumnal Equinox 2”, is made from a simple pattern. However, if you look closely you’ll see that the diagonals are in pairs that angle out from each other. This has the effect of creating an irregular shadow pattern that adds to its dynamism. The blue drips at the bottom also add to the interest of this piece.
